More on Blackjack the Casino Game - Rules, Strategy & Tips
Rules and information on the casino game blackjack can be found below.
Rules
Blackjack has many different varieties but most of the rules are basically the same. Each card is worth its face value, although an Ace is worth either 1 or 11. A King, Queen and Jack are worth 10. You have to try to reach as close to 21 as possible and hope that the dealer’s cards have a lower value than yours. You or the dealer will also lose if you cards equal more than 21 (Bust).
A natural 21 can be achieved if you are dealt for example a jack and an ace (10 + 11). If the dealer also happens to receive the same hand and your cards are equal to the same amount, the game is therefore tied. This is called a Push. You will get your stake returned and a new hand can begin. After the first two cards have been dealt, you will get the chance to hit, draw or stand, allowing you to try and improve your hand or stay with what you was dealt.
Strategy & Tips
Players should try to learn basic blackjack strategy. Once learned, this can be brought to your game. This basically involves learning the hands and then learning what to do next, based on what the dealers face up card is (the card that you can see) and what you are holding. For example, it would be wrong to take another card if you have 17 or more. The chances of you receiving a 4 or less is very slim and generally the dealer will have to stand on 16 or 17, depending on the house rules.
It’s also not worth taking insurance or having additional side bets, because you are just spending money unnecessarily. Cut your losses and simply move on to the next hand. Although using basic blackjack strategy can bring down the house edge, it does not always guarantee that you will win, so use your common sense as well and don’t gamble more than you can afford.
